Professional Summary

Hi! I’m Alexis McCall, and I am a marriage and family therapist and licensed professional counselor. I provide counseling to individuals, couples, and families.

If you’re feeling stuck, unmotivated, or just unhappy about where you or your relationships are in life, you’ve come to the right place. I am passionate about my clients improve their self-esteem, relationships, and overall satisfaction in life.

I do not believe in one single approach to counseling for every person that walks through my door. I tend to be flexible with each client I see and vary in the modalities I use in their sessions. Primarily, I believe that using a client-centered approach is beneficial because I truly want my clients to get what they want out of therapy.

In our sessions together, we will work collaboratively to reach your therapeutic goals. In individual sessions, you can expect to learn skills in order to cope with the daily stressors of life, express your emotions to your loved ones, and set healthy boundaries. In family sessions, I will help you practice open communication with your family members, learn how your attachment styles affect each member of the family, and improve your familial relationships. When working with couples, I will help you and your partner practice open communication, learn how each of your love languages affect your relationship, and improve your overall satisfaction in your relationship.

One thing my clinical experience has taught me is that taking the first step to seek out counseling takes an enormous amount of courage, but once you’ve made that first step, you’ve done the hardest part.

Dr. Brene Brown said it best when she said, “You can choose courage or you can choose comfort, but you cannot choose both.” If you want your life to change, I am here to help facilitate that courage and guide you on the path to an improved life!

Alexis has a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy and has completed an externship in emotion-focused couples therapy (EFT) through the Chicago Center for Emotion-Focused Therapy. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life transitions, adolescent behavioral issues, relationship issues and family conflict. She also has experience working with individuals with special needs and their families as well as working with LGBTQ+ individuals.
