Hello! My name is Sophie Adzia and I am a licensed social worker at Life Counseling Institute.

Beginning your therapeutic journey can bring up a lot of different feelings–fear, excitement, anxiety, distrust. As someone who has sat on your side of the couch, I know firsthand that you might be feeling all of them, and more, all at once. My goal is to create a comfortable environment for you to explore any thoughts or feelings that may emerge.

If you’re unsure of how therapy may benefit you, I’d love to sit down and figure it out together. I believe that collaboration is the most important part of a therapeutic relationship. I enjoy working with clients, as well as their support systems, to identify goals and understand what progress looks like for them.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds and with a variety of presenting concerns. My approach to therapy is flexible and tailored to the individual. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), and play therapy, depending on each client’s needs and goals. I value creating a collaborative space where clients feel supported and understood while developing new skills, gaining insight, and working toward meaningful change.

Sophie works with kids, teens, and adults. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and behavioral challenges. Sophie sees clients in our Willowbrook and Park Ridge therapy offices and also offers online therapy throughout Illinois.
