Hi! My name is Mary Sliwa and I am a licensed professional counselor at Life Counseling Institute.

I believe each person has a unique story. Within various stages of life, we can all experience many different emotions, challenges, and obstacles that can influence our choices. Taking the first step into seeking therapy, whether for yourself or your child, can be challenging and takes much courage, but I am happy you are here.

I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults. In my work with kids and teens, I provide guidance for anxiety and depression, managing emotions, friendship issues, academic challenges, finding identity, and overall navigating the journey of life. I believe it’s important that your child knows she is not alone and is cared for, and I am here to help. I hope that together we can find ways of learning how to process, balance, and overcome anything that arises. I also love working with parents, helping them maneuver the challenges that are coming up for the child.

In my work with adults, I sincerely believe in collaborating with you, creating a space in which you can feel safe to express yourself openly and building an alliance you can count on to achieve the outcome you’re seeking. Being able to steer through life’s challenges rests on the foundation of being able to look within yourself. I hope that with an empathic environment, self-reflection, and support, I can guide you every step of the way.

Mary works with children, teens, and adults with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and many other issues. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family, traveling, trying new restaurants, and watching movies and TV shows.
