Professional Summary
Hello! I’m Brynne Dochterman (she/her), a licensed professional counselor at Life Counseling Institute. My wish is to walk beside you and support you as you work toward the life you want to live. My goal is to create a supportive environment in which we can explore your history, relationship dynamics, and emotions.
I primarily use a relational approach to counseling, centered around attachment and childhood trauma. Usually, our earliest attachments show us how to see the world and engage with others. But sometimes how we’ve learned to attach to others doesn’t serve us anymore and can make us feel stuck. In addition, I utilize education and skill-building opportunities to alleviate emotional discomfort. Together we can explore attachment wounds and trauma, as well as build skills to support you on your path to understanding and healing.
It’s not always easy to ask for support, but I’m so glad you’re here. Everyone is capable and worthy of healing, and by showing up to counseling with curiosity and self-compassion, you can begin. I’m honored to support you on your healing journey!
Brynne works with teens and adults. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and trauma.
