Professional Summary

Hello there! My name is Emma Beechen, and I’m an associate licensed marriage and family therapist at Life Counseling Institute.

Life can sometimes feel like a whirlwind of confusion, stress, and emotions, especially when we forget to pause and check in with ourselves. That’s where counseling comes in – it offers a supportive space for you to navigate life’s complexities at your own pace, with someone who will truly listen and help you gain insight into your experiences.

If you’re seeking a counselor, I’m here to assist individuals of all ages, from children, teens, and adults, as well as couples and families.  Whatever struggles you or your child are facing–be it depression, anxiety, relationship issues, stress, or anything else–know that you don’t have to go it alone. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where we can work together to uplift you and equip you with the tools you need to thrive.

Counseling isn’t just about solving immediate problems; it’s also about discovering how your existing strengths and skills can transform your response to life’s challenges. It’s a journey of self-discovery and growth, where we can redefine what matters most to you and set meaningful goals for the future.

When it comes to working with children and teens, my approach is to nurture their coping skills and resiliency as they navigate the complexities of growing up. Childhood and adolescence can be tough, and I’m here to provide a supportive, empathetic, and fun environment where young individuals can explore their identities and learn to manage stress and emotions effectively. These goals are addressed through my implementation of play therapy, which allows them to explore emotions through a safe environment, while building confidence and skills. To assist in your child’s work with me, I also provide parent sessions and behavioral/emotional training so that you can have the tools to support them at home.

I’m so glad that you’ve taken this step towards seeking support and understanding. This marks the beginning of a positive journey where you’ll discover your inner strength and take charge of your life in a way that aligns with your aspirations. I would be honored to work with you on this transformative journey!

Emma works with kids, teens, adults, couples and families. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues and behavioral and social issues. Emma sees clients in our Willowbrook and Park Ridge therapy offices and also offers online therapy throughout Illinois.
